HampshireCam Travels ~ Fountains Abbey, plus a few feathered friends
 

A Lapwing patrolling the skies keeping watch over its young family below...                   All photographs © David Packman

 

...on the ground its other half watches the young ones.

 

When I started photographing the Lapwing chicks I was sitting on a small rise 20 yards away amongst the heather. Over a 15 minute period the chicks ate their way to within a few feet of me with no alarm at all from them or the adults, after a few minutes they moved on for pastures new.



 

 

 

The sweet song of the Skylark.

Appearing like a caped crusader this Swallow is about to deliver a meal to its young. More of this family at a later date.
