Rhododendrons in all their glory near Bolderwood. At the beginning of March the New Forest became the UK's newest and smallest National Park. The ancient hunting grounds have become the first new national park for 50 years. The statutory purposes of a National Park are to conserve and enhance the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the area, and to promote opportunities for the enjoyment and understanding of the special qualities of the Park by the public. |
