Furzey House is owned by the same charitable trust that owns the gardens. The house is a christian home used as a retreat for individuals, this being so it's not open to visitors. (Photographed last year). |

A young child was heard to ask? "what are those things" the answer, "they're scarecrows to scare the birds off the crops", the child replied "well they don't scare me".

Forest Cottage is believed to have been built in 1560 with timbers from the Tudor boatyards at nearby Lymington. During its renovation a Mormon newspaper sent from Salt Lake City - dated 1860 - was found being used as lining paper for the ceiling. The cottage now houses an ongoing exhibition of the work of students from The Minstead Training Project. |
