The male pheasant, one of our best known, most colouful and probably our most stupid game bird, especially when it comes to crossing the road.

Tiptoeing through the water a Little Egret after a meal...

...while the swans and mallards go about their own business.

The HampshireCam Blue Tits are nesting again.

~~~~~ ...and now for something different ~~~~~
From one of nature's feathered flying machines to some human ones. All the photographs were taken over the last few weeks on my travels around Hampshire. I came across these paragliders flying off the eastern slopes of Old Winchester Hill (12 miles south-east of Winchester) lit by the setting sun...
...and while photographing the red-legged partridge near Northington Grange I heard a plane engine and on looking up saw a biplane in German marking passing over...at the same spot a few minutes later and yet another engine, this time a helicopter flying very low out of the valley and straight towards the camera and landing at a farm a short distance away...
...finally these airliners appeared to be having a race flying over the New Forest outbound towards the coast. Although the over taking plane appeared to be lower they looked rather too close for comfort.            All Photographs © David Packman
