The Easter Holiday saw Thomas and friends in action on the Watercress Line. The line which runs between Alresford and Alton celebrates its' 25th anniversary this year. The author of the "Thomas the Tank Engine" books the Rev. W.V. Awdry was born at Romsey, Hampshire in 1911, where his father was Vicar of Ampfield. The first Thomas book was written in 1946 with twenty-six more following, the last being in 1976. The Rev. Awdry died at his home in Gloucestershire in March 1997.

 

The photographs of Thomas and friend above were taken at Ropley, while the rest were photographed at Alresford Station.
